Looking Forward to a Mysterious 2018 in Our Manors

It has been a wonderful year in Mystery Manor for the iPad. We have had some crazy ups and downs. I think we will have a Mysterious 2018 in our Manors.

I don’t know all the details but I know some of the things GI is working on sound like they are going to make our games more interesting. They are working hard and I don’t have release dates yet. I think their team does such a great job.

We are almost at year 6 for Mystery Manor for the iPad and I’m sure this game has grown bigger than they ever expected. There’s a lot of stuff to keep track of in the game. And they need to come up with new ideas and new collections and quest strings to keep us going. Plus, to give us a break from searching they have created battles, mini-games and a Mystic Arena.

We can make great friends in the game. Our Guilds bring us closer and many of us chat on text and email. Many people feed me information to get the quest strings posted as soon as I can. The site would be updated at a much slower rate without them.

There is loads of research to keep things up to date in the game. 2017 was a year of progress and improvement for the website. The  Super Sleuths help keep the website up and running with their subscriptions. They get special content for their support. We put Google Translator on the website so that it will show in all 6 languages the game is released in.

I will be spending most of January updating web pages and making things better. I have a list of improvements to work on that will keep me very busy. So, while I may not always be in the game visiting and gifting I will do my daily wall requests and keep up as much as I can. I apologize if it takes me time to return gifts.

I just want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their help, friendship and patience.

Let’s take this Mysterious 2018 and have fun with it. We’ll hope for great new quests and events in the game.

Great work! Many thanks to you all. We must make sure this keeps going. It means such a lot to so many of us. I also now have friends all over the world & have plans to meet one from USA & one from Canada when they travel to Europe this summer.

Want to leave a Thank you from one of your super sluth’s. What you have done by complying all this information has saved so much time and diamonds. It’s funny before using your page, when people asked about a beginning qwest a lot of us been around players(and being a older been around dosen’t help either)had a hard time remembering the qwest sequence. But the help of having this info at my finger tips is great. I just decided to tackle playing the arena since I have the weapons list as a reference. Many Thanks to you and your husband🤩 🌺

I think one of the best suggestions that could be made would be for mystical living room chargers to be giftable. They are ridiculously hard to get.

I have over a 1000 friends, having been with the game from the early days. It is becoming increasingly difficult to determine which players have left the game & is just sitting dormant. The sleeper pillows help, but so many appear to be just taking up space. They don’t thank for gifts, respond to messages and it’s hard to keep track of them. I was thinking that if we can star favorite friends, maybe we could have a way to tag ourselves as active players. For example, maybe a way to change the color behind out level in our name section. The current background color is a vibrant red-orange, what if it could be switched to another color, such as a blue- green, to show others we are active. As players, it would be our responsibility to show we want to interact in the game. To avoid the issue of lax players, maybe it could have a timed life span & would need to be reset periodically. It could replace or supplement the sleeper players. My goal is to recognize active players, so I know who to gift items to, especially collection items. I see items on wishlists, while I want to help, I’m reluctant to gift, if I’m not sure the player is active. It’s just a thought & hope it’s one worth consideration.

    I scroll through my friends list occasionally and delete. First I look at my pillows. If they have given 0 gifts and don’t have a message in their name that says they’re traveling I delete them. Unless of course they’re one of my closer friends. Then I look down my list and see who has given 0 gifts in the last week. Since we only get 5 pillows it is harder to find them. I’m an aggressive friend deleter. I figure if they come back to the game and actually want to interact with me they can add me back as a friend. I don’t like giving gifts to friends who never respond either. That being said, some days I’m so busy that I don’t take the time to send a thank you for every gift. I should be better at it. I think you all put up with my lack of manners because I write the web page. I usually have to decide what to take the time to do and I try to put web page updates first. If you delete your pillows and say visit on a pillow that’s left it will give you more pillows.

    Some of these identifying changes would be nice and I’ve given a huge list of things the players would like. In your friends list there is a selection for friends that have gifted you. However, this counts tapping on wall requests and I think is cumulative instead of for the last week. I requested they make that exclude wall requests and be for a specified time frame, like a week. With over 1,000 friends I bet you spend more than half your time in the game tapping on wall requests.

    I am a little OCD when gifting. I actually keep a notebook with player name, avatar (for multi-national language barrier), level, and amount of experience. I go in order, visiting each player and making changes to levels and experience amount found in menu on the right side of the screen. This allows me to know at a glance if they have played recently by the change in either level or experience. I have some difficulty deleting because I have had several come back after months of inactivity. There are so many reasons they had not played,i.e.,illness, traveling, device issues(I went thru that one!, family situations. I even have friends that for reasons unknown to me can not update so can not always send certain gifts. I actually try to help them a little extra as I do some players that, again for reasons unknown, do not progress as quickly as most. I don’t know if they might have difficulty with actually exploring or very little time or maybe don’t use charms, etc. to help them level up faster. I really had a small meltdown on the glitch where the order of my friend list was scrambled! Fortunately I was near the end of a visiting cycle and could finish with a little extra effort, then start a new record of levels.❤️

Wondering if anyone can help. Today whenever I minimise MM and then come back to it later it tells me I have to reload the game which is irritating. Does anyone have any ideas. It was perfectly fine before, I could leave it minimised overnight and the next day it opened where I left off. Thanks for any help.

    Try re-starting your Ipad, see if that helps!

      Thanks Mog, it has rectified itself but I’ve had a couple of syntax errors pop up once I’ve explored a room. I’m wondering GI are updating or something like that.

I opened my four battles and received my four chest, but they did not show up on the guild page. I do not understand my then I had no more keys to battle with again

    Did you check into the Guild Event wall before doing your battles? You have to go into that part of the wall before anything counts.

Some people in my guild can not believe there is coming any update soon, they even think that the game will be unavailable soon and die slowly now, do you know more about this?

    The past two weekends it has been at least an hour and a half after an event has started that I am able to access the event. I have done two tickets and both times they come back with “They are working one it”. Do you know if there is something in the works to increase the bandwidth?
    My guild members are getting pretty POed that we are unable to get into the events in a timely manner. I have a brand new iPad, purchased in November. It is not my internet although it says that 2 times before the “something went wrong, please try again later message occurs”. It is becoming aggravating, especially based on the amount of $$ I spend on this game. Do you have any insight?

      I sent a massive amount of feedback to GI today which was passed on to the server team. I have asked for a projected date for this fix but have not received one. Sunday’s event was a total mess. And for many players 2 hours before they can start an event makes it very late at night for them with the time zones they are in.

I encountered something unusual yesterday. I had a gift request on my wall, it was grayed out less than 24hours old and only a visit button. Do you know why there is no reply button or what’s go8ng on?

    Someone else reported this to me. Are you sure you are still friends with them? Perhaps they deleted you or the game? I know the other player said mine was greyed out. Take a screen shot and open a ticket that shows less than 24 after you make sure they are still on friends list.

      If they had left the game or deleted me, how could they request a gift? I still have it on my wall but well over 24 hours now. It was only 4 hours when I first saw it. But will take a picture and open a ticket on the next one. This is the 2nd one I have had in a week.

    That happened to me a couple days ago. Turns out it was a player who had recently become my friend. I visited the friend tab and searched their name and found them and realized it was a new addition to my friends. I went back to my wall and it looked like a regular request.

    I have this happen frequently – it appears to be that I asked a player to be a friend, but didn’t check my friends tab to make it official. Once I visit my friends tab, the grey out goes away and the “friendship” is official.

Frankly given the number of dormant players out of the 1200+ I have, I think the game has taken the major down turn. So many of us have lost our games more than once, the restoration is never complete. One friend is on her 4th such loss. Many of us frequently lose chunks of our friend list. Just before Christmas I lost over 200. Last year GI had at least one, or two sessions where we couldn’t visit friends. Then there’s the constant connectivity issues, only the most stubborn of us remain, although with problems being the norm, it’s getting old. Before you tell me to contact their customer service, they have to learn to read first. They belabor an issue by not reading the ticket and asking for what they’ve already been given, often twice.

    Honestly, I’m not going to tell you to contact customer service. I write what I know is going on and relay player feedback. They are working on server issues. They are also working on improving their customer service team and training them. Imagine starting a new job that you need to provide customer service for in 6 languages. They need to translate those languages and understand many problems that aren’t written well. These are not people that grew up speaking 6 languages or playing this game daily from the beginning. Customer service jobs are the bottom of the ring at any company.

    You have a choice to put up with the pitfalls of the game or not play. You can help those game losses where there is a crazy glitch by backing up your iPad on a regular basis, even every day. Then when it crashes you restore your iPad and you have everything back in your game just like it was. You can’t really blame big losses on GI if you don’t take the initiative to have a back up copy.

    They are working on server issues now. I know it seems like they are not making things better or even that they’re getting worse. My plan is to just give them a little leeway and be patient. Perhaps a game break. Remember it’s just a game!

      I agree with you fully. I have chosen to back up frequently – just in case. I just hope that the game continues for years to come.

What is going on with the Internet connections on the weekend events. It is getting worse instead of better. The quests don’t exist or are useless. Is MM losing control. If things are fixed shortly, I’m afraid quite a few members will quit, especially low levels. Maybe that’s what MM wants, only high level players

Is anyone else having can’t connext to network messages? It’s freezong cold outside so there’s nothing to do. And I have been getting can’t connect to network messages all damn day.
It’s very frustrating. And as complicated all the quests are I’m almost about to give up on this game.

    Yes, our guild team members are all having issues. Two hours into event and can’t see progress, etc. it’s gotten much worse unfortunately. I am afraid we will lose members 😪

      Thank you. I Ann already flustered because the quests border on the freakin impossible. And they drag on and on forever. I have seriously considered just quitting. But I have money invested at this point. If not for my friends that help me I don’t know what I would do.

    I so agree about the quests, they are making a lot less sense AND getting so much harder. Not just hard, virtually impossible in some cases.
    They used to have some consistency and u could kind of follow along. Not anymore, that zodiac room, no reasonable explanation on how to crack it.

    I understand network issues, and although frustrating, I didn’t want to play the event today anyway, it used more keys than the prize was worth. Anth r dumb move.
    Game is getting very irregular and losing consistency. They will lose players, but unless it’s thousands I doubt they will see it as a problem. They do what they want, without our mm admin we would really be lost.

      What gets me too is how hard it is to get some of the needed weapons to ban roamers, and you have to ban an exorbitant amount of them. But I never get weapons. And now I have to banish more stupid robots and it took forever to get enough oil cans the first time. Why do I have to do it again?

Hi. I am trying to get to Mars and I have to banish tripods and destroyers to find the drawings but I am struggling to get the laser swords /blasters that I need. I have had them many times before but would be very grateful if you could advise where I can find them as they don’t seem to be appearing at the moment.
Also, these pages have been invaluable. I did not really understand the game before and the information you have collected has helped enormously and saved me a lot of time and effort. It is much appreciated. Thank you.

    Those weapons drop from searching. Make sure you always use a turtle of luck when you search. Also, the Cornicopia artifact helps. If you search the Collections Table I think there are 1 or 2 of them that give 3. I don’t remember for sure.

Is it true that GI has decided not to make chests with keys for newer rooms? Is that for sure, hope it’s not a final decision. I saw you posted that on one of these pages, can’t find it at the moment.
A lot of us rely on those chests to be able to play. Thanks for all your hard work!!

    The last several rooms there have not been chests added to the shop as a regular purchase item. However, they do offer those chests as sale items on what seems to be a fairly regular basis.

        Well the Zodiac Fortress does not require keys to search after 7 days. I think that’s a big plus! Do your battle and search away for 4 hours!

Happy New Year and thank you so much for everything you do for us, without you mm would sometimes prove very difficult or time consuming. Eg your collections which enables us to look instantly where an item is. I wondered please if I may mention some things which would possibly improve play? I think an ask all button on chargers would help so much, sometimes it takes over an hour a day to ask everyone, it’s funny how there is a buy all button lol, also an open all button on the gift page, I personally glance through gifts so I can repay everyone but then it takes forever to accept them all if I’ve previously asked for chargers. A real big item is that they never, ever update “maps”, they used to everytime new bosses appeared but now nothing. Thanks for listening, may 2018 bring you much health and hapiness.     I think we have many of those suggestions in to them. But every once in awhile I push again. Hopefully we will see some of these things in the update they’re working on. I know it’s a lot of changes but not everything. I think it would be better for them if they made improvements that expedited gifting so we would spend more time searching and doing things that make us spend the diamonds. I know you are a long time player. I appreciate your feedback.
